THE PROTAGONISTS
Massimo della Pietra 36 years old, a kind of prophetic last name for his passion (pietra in italian means stone).
His nickname is as a matter of fact MAX STONE.
Max’s banners at Stones’ concerts are well known, but knowing how he brings to the concerts seven banners at the time is absolutely incredible…
He has been travelling around Europe for 16 years carrying a banner saying: “After Elvis Only Keith”.
His dream is to meet Keith Richards, he also managed to deliver a letter to him explaining why he has this dream: “Keith Richards is the soundtrack that has been marking my life for 26 years. He is able to give me new deep emotions with each riff. My dream is to meet him: Please Keith make me Happy”.
All started on July 6th 2006 when the Rolling Stones arrived in Milan for the first concert of their European Tour.
I’ve spent almost two years chasing the Italian fans of the Rolling Stones.
Eight of them became the protagonists of this documentary.
Round trips by car in the same day, sleeping at friends’ homes on the couch or in the sleeping bag; everything like if time hasn’t passed and with the same enthusiasm of when they were 20 years old.
Luciano, 45 years old, sums up the general feeling.
“I’ve seen three concerts in six days, it seems the claim of a slimming diet. Paris, Lyon, Barcelona. 3,400 km by car imposed to my wife and my back. When I was waiting the start of the concert in Paris, I asled myself: Do I still care? It’s always the same emotion …maybe this time they won’t start with the same song and maybe they’ll close the concert with Please Go Home…then the first blaze on the stage and all the bad thoughts are gone…these guys make me feel a kid all the time.
There is always emotion, heart, dreams, fortune”.
I’m with them at concerts, I follow them at their homes, when they meet and discuss about their passion.
I film them when they play privately or when they play on stage as tribute band.
I was there when a dream became true.
On July 6th 2007 in Rome, Max Stone was able to meet Keith Richards.
At a certain point I thought that was it: but then there was London in August 2007, the last three concerts of the long Rolling Stones’ European Tour. I spent a whole week with them, 24 hours a day, still filming the protagonists of the documentary.
